Darryl Chiew, Executive Director of OneAsia, gave an insightful presentation on why Thailand is the next data connectivity hub in ASEAN.

In addition to a vibrant and much larger population than Singapore and Hong Kong, Thailand also witnesses a growing middle and upper class with 75% internet users and 96 million mobile internet users, underlying the potentially massive demand for data and connectivity services.

OneAsia has been a major player in APAC’s data centre market for years and will be launching its 1st international data centre in Thailand in 1H2023 to catch the huge market potential. The data centre will be located at North Bangkok with 20MW planned for service.

Keeny Leung, Technology & Business Director of OneAsia Network shared a keynote presentation of Where to Build Data Centres in Crowded Hong Kong? Data Centre Going Underground at Hong Kong Cloud & Datacentre Convention on September 21st.

In the speech, Keeny Leung addressed questions like whether underground data centres are possible for Hong Kong and how Hong Kong can capture the growth opportunity for data centres faced with a shortage of land suitable for data centre construction.

OneAsia launched its High-Performance Computing solution OAsis, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, enhancing Hong Kong’s positioning as the International Centre of Innovative Technology and contributing to the Chinese government’s construction of a national computing network.

OAsis is expected to empower complex data computing and simulation to advance academic and industry innovation, which will in turn enhance Hong Kong’s R&D capabilities and positioning as the International Centre of Innovative Technology.

OneAsia is proud to launch an immersion cooling solution starting this September. This new solution significantly reduces data centre energy consumption by 45% and provides more reliable performance with up to 10x increase in computing density.

OneAsia is the first in Hong Kong to provide this add-on service, which enables customers to meet the increasingly demanding heat dissipation and power requirements for IT infrastructure today. It allows our customers to achieve optimum energy efficiency in operation.

It was such a great sharing of insights at the panel discussion “25 Years and Beyond – Opportunities in Thailand and Hong Kong” during the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) celebration business dinner. On behalf of OneAsia, our Thailand General Manager-Timothy Wong shed light on the business opportunities and potential areas of collaboration between Hong Kong and Thailand.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok (Bangkok ETO) organized a series of celebratory events entitled “Hong Kong Week” to mark the 25th anniversary of the HKSAR. The events included a business dinner, which was hosted by Bangkok ETO, the Thai-Hong Kong Association, and Hong Kong Trade Development Council on July 19.
